Komodo Dragon

Komodo is carnivorous lizards that live only on the island of Komodo, Rinca and small islands in Indonesia. Because the adult population of around 6000 Komodo are heavily exposed and in the IUCN Red List, but under the scientific name Varanus komodoensis. Weigh up to 300 pounds (160 kg) and length of 10 feet (3 meters), it is the world's largest lizard documented but not the largest living reptiles the alligator and crocodile. The alligator and crocodile are also more closely related to dinosaurs from the Komodo dragon. It looks scary and although it may seem somewhat awkward Komodo can sprint as fast as a dog for short periods of time. Komodo live alone except when mating and defending a wide area as theirs. May appear that the Komodo is Junk man because often eat animals have been killed. This is a common misunderstanding. Komodo is actually a stealth predator that attacks its prey with sharp claws and powerful bite. Usually, Komodo and then release the prey, and after a week of prayer will die of blood poisoning. This has led to the assumption that the Komodo is poisonous, but a bit more complicated than that.

Although proven by the University of Melbourne that the Komodo has, like other lizards, poison producing genes, is actually something else that kills. Always saliva, Komodo saliva contains many bacteria that infect the Komodo dragon while bites from. Therefore the killing was not Komodo but spread caused by the bite of the Komodo is not. While Komodo usually eat wild goats and pigs, also known to eat animals as big as water buffalo and, on occasion, even humans. The Komodo tongue split, like a snake and use the tongue to smell the air. Wonderful taste and aroma of the tongue Komodo ability to detect this is to help handle the prey, to detect danger and eventually find a way on the island was inhabited.

At the intersection of the Komodo dragon occurs between May and August. Like most other reptiles lay eggs and the Komodo usually occurs in September. Female Komodo dragon usually put around 20 eggs in a tree hollow or in a hole in the ground to protect some protection for its future offspring. After 7 months the eggs hatch and the newborn Komodo their shelter to a tree. They not only threatened by other predators, but also by Komodo adults who will not think twice about eating their young. During the time of their life cycle actually Komodo Junk man, living from dead animals killed by others or because of natural reasons. After about five years of baby-Komodo was an adult and can begin to live as an adult-Komodo dragon.
